Enriching four-week creative programme at the Miners & Mechanics Institute in St Agnes
We were pleased to support a series of creative workshops, expertly facilitated by Vicki Aimers, which explored themes of sense of place, mining heritage, and the evolving narratives of women within and connected with mining communities.
The workshops resulted in a collection of compelling and imaginative works that contribute meaningfully to the preservation and interpretation of local history. These pieces help to interweave personal and collective stories, offering fresh insights into the lived experiences of past generations and how we connect with mining heritage today.
It was particularly valuable to hear participants share their connections to the mining story, both within Cornwall and through family histories linked to migration following the decline of the mining industry.
We are delighted to have funded this initiative, which has fostered fascinating discussions and creative expression while deepening engagement with our shared heritage.
